Terminology & Definitions

Ÿ 

Anomaly:  A piece of data that is out of the norm or irregular.

Ÿ  Apparition:  Appearance of a deceased person or animal. Often out of the side view. Usually not the whole subject. Whole = Full body apparition. Can hover or float.

Ÿ  Aport:  An object appearing in a space by having to pass though a solid object. (door or wall).

Ÿ  Astral Projection:  The ability for one’s self to leave the body and go to another place or time though use of the mind.

Ÿ  Automatic Writing:  Ability to write intelligible messages with out control. Often occurs when channeling. 

Ÿ  Channeling:  Ability to allow an entity to use you as a conduit to communicate.

Ÿ  Cleansing:  A less ritualized form of exorcism, where malevolent entities are vacated by use of prayers, herbs, holy water, and anointing oils.

Ÿ  Cold Spot:  Small area which changes temperature cooler than room and can move  through out room. Usually a 10 degree difference. Believed to be a spirit may be attempting to manifest itself by drawing out the heat in that area.

Ÿ  Construct:  Directed psychic energies can be used to create or summon a responsive like entity that can continue to exist on it’s own for a time independent of the creater or summoner.

Ÿ  Debunk:  To rule out evidence by finding a natural cause and recreating it.

Ÿ  Demonology:  Study of non human entities. (****Dangerous****)

Ÿ  Demonologist:  Person who takes up demonology, Specialist. (***Dangerous****)

  Demonic Haunting:  Haunting by non human entity, can be dramatic & violent.  Usually attached to people with ”weak spirits” or high/dramatic stress life. Consult a specialist as serious mental and physical injury can occur.

Ÿ  Doppelganger:   A persons duplicate or identical counterpart. This is a result of either bi-locational or astral projection. It is speculated that if the two share the same space and you see yours you can trade places.

Ÿ  Dowsing (Divining):  Use of rods held in hands to locate something.

Ÿ  Echolalia:  Entity repeats back word for word what you have said.

Ÿ  Ectoplasm:  A filmy quasi-solid substance which appears to be like a mist and can feel like a spider web when you touch it. Said to be left behind after a entity makes contact or was in that space prior.

Ÿ  Elemental:  Entities that are set to be from the four elements, earth, fire, water, wind.

Ÿ  E.M.F.  Electromagnetic field. Natural frequencies of energy present that can be manipulated by spirits attempting to make contact. (energy is all around us but also man made electronics and power lines can disturb).

Ÿ  Empath:  Ability to read thoughts or feeling in another person.

Ÿ  Entity:  Spirit, ghost, etc. Term covering non living subjects.

Ÿ  E.V.P.:  Electronic Voice Phenomena. The use of audio recording equipment to capture sounds and voices not heard at time of recording.

Ÿ  Exorcism : Ceromonial expulsion of spiritual or demonic forces from a person or dwelling. Conducted by presit, rabbi, or someone who is a faith representative .

Ÿ  Fear Cage:  Small room or area, enclosed, high E.M.F. reading. Causes anxiety.

Ÿ  Ghost:  Spirit said to haunt area.

Ÿ  Haunting:  Manifestation of paranormal events repetitive and over a period of time

  Imprint:  Entity or spirit sets itself to an object, area,  or moment . Repeats over and over.

Ÿ  Incubus:  A demonic or negative male entity that can generate sexual arousal with and sometimes draining energy of and assaulting females.

Ÿ  Intelligent:  A type of haunting where the entity is continually trying to interact with people.

Ÿ  I.R.:  Infrared. Light on the lower end of visible spectrum. Not visible to human eye.

Ÿ  Living Ghost:  Usually the manifestation for friend or loved one who is in great  distress. Usually related to the manifestor being in fear for mortality.

Ÿ  Lost Time:  A situation that time seems to slow or stop for someone. They may not ever be able to recall.

Ÿ  Manifest:  An entities ability to become visible.

Ÿ  Mist:  A field that may look like a cloud or haze with no true form or color. Entity.

Ÿ  Moment Of Mortality:  A manifestation that occurs at the exact moment of death. Often from a friend or loved one to another. “seeing grandpa at the foot of the bed saying I love you” for example.

Ÿ  Necromancy:  Attempt to summon the dead for personal gain.

Ÿ  Nonhuman Spirit:  Entity that is a result of something not resulting in the death other than that of a human.

Ÿ  Orb:  Form of energy usually visible in pictures. (watch out for false evidence)

Ÿ  Paranormal:  Something which can not be explained with in the normal every day  occurrences.

Ÿ     Poltergeist:  “Noisy ghost” has effect on physical objects. Mischievous in nature. Can be linked to a person with a great stress.

Ÿ Ÿ  Possession:  Where a entity is said to gain control of your body for personal gain without your permission.

Ÿ  Precognition:  The ability to see into the future. (psychic ability).

Ÿ  Psychic:  The ability to use ability to pre cog, retro cog, commune with the dead, or gain insight normally unavailable to others.

Ÿ  Psychic Vampire:  Ones ability to draw away another’s energy often by conversing with them. Absorbing another’s energy.

Ÿ   Residual Haunting:  Re occurring moment usually linked to trauma for the entity. Replays over and over like a broken record.

Ÿ  Retrocognition:  The ability to see into the past. (psychic ability).

Ÿ  Revenant:  An entity which projects an appearance of being distressed or misplaced.

Ÿ  Shadow Person:  An entity that comes in the form of a dark shadow like figure.

Ÿ  Séance:  A group effort to make contact with the dead using a spiritual director, (psychic or medium) to direct the ceremony.

Ÿ  Stigmata:  A person bleeding from areas where it corresponds to crucifixion. Earliest documented account 1887.

Ÿ  Succubus:  A demonic or negative female entity that can generate sexual arousal with and sometimes draining energy of and assaulting males.

Ÿ  Supernatural:  Events attributed to god like entities will. Angels, devils, demons,    etc.

Ÿ  Telekinesis:  Ability to manipulate physical objects by bodies electrical charges.

Ÿ  Vortex:  A anomaly which can show up in photographs that is said to be a doorway to another dimension or spiritual plane of existence
